emergency helicopter on hospital pad

Roof top landings are all in a days work.

Emergency Medical Services pilots fly both fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft and serve an essential function in our community.  As an EMS pilot you have a career which offers you the opportunity to save lives.

Some EMS flights transport the injured, acting as a flight ambulance and some are staffed by Doctors and Paramedics who provide treatment on-board, improving triage care.

As an EMS pilot you never know what’s coming next.  In a helicopter, you need to consider where your landing will be.  It could be on a sports-ground, a road and most likely at some point a rooftop pad at a hospital.

Fixed wing pilots also land at unusual spots.  In bush or outback situations you may land on a dirt road, or you could be fast tracked into a capital airport with priority as a mercy flight.

If you like  variety and the challenge of being part of an incredibly valuable team, perhaps EMS flying might be for you.

The video below is provided by the Helicopter Association International. Great insight into EMS Flying
